Quick Start

Share your first credential securely in under 2 minutes.

Get up and running with CredenShare in minutes. This guide walks you through creating your first secure share.

Step 1: Visit CredenShare

Navigate to credenshare.io and you'll see the sharing widget right on the homepage.

Step 2: Enter Your Credential

Paste the password, API key, or secret you want to share into the input field.

Your credential is encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before it is sent. The key that decrypts it travels in the share link itself and never reaches our servers.

Step 3: Generate the Link

Click Generate Secure Link and you'll receive a unique URL.

Shares created from the homepage are fixed: a 24-hour expiry, a single view, and no password. The expiry and view controls shown beside the field are inert placeholders — they are premium teasers, not settings. To choose an expiration, cap the number of views, or add a password, sign in and create the share from the app (password protection requires a Solo plan or above).

Step 4: Send the Link

Treat the link itself as the secret. The key that decrypts the credential travels in the link itself — which is also why our servers cannot read it. Anyone who sees the URL can read the plaintext — once. A homepage share is burn-after-reading: the first view destroys it, and it expires after 24 hours if nobody opens it.Do not open the link yourself to check it worked. That consumes the only view and the credential is gone before your recipient sees it.

Send it over one channel you trust, and do not post it anywhere it will be retained — a group channel, a ticket, a wiki, an email thread that gets forwarded. For highly sensitive credentials, create the share from the app and add password protection so the link alone is not enough.

Step 5: The Credential Expires

A homepage share stops working 24 hours after you create it. If you set a view limit in the app, it stops working once those views are used up. Either way the stored ciphertext is then permanently deleted — there is no way to recover it.
